156B Week 6
Overview of Status of Analysis, Design, Fabrication, Tests, etc.
Analysis:
The tearing of the segment confirmed the FEA we did prior.
Design:
A more advanced 2 DOF test box is being designed.
An overtube variation of our design is being designed in parallel with the main project.
Test:
The SMA wires are still under testing with the optical encoder.
The characterization test of the actuated tip is under way so that the controls can begin.
Accomplishments from Previous Week
Proof of concept was a success.
The SMA test bed was built and preliminary tests were done.
Goals for Next Week (list names after each item). Use specific and measurable objectives.
Jorge: Fix mechanical design to fit SMA springs/ Redesign flexible tip
George: CAD overtube variation design / CAD 2 DOF test box
Kazu: Finish assembly of SMA test bed/ Begin SMA testing
Avinash: Use BeagleBone Code to test actuation on flexible tip
