*156B Week 10
Overview of Status of Analysis, Design, Fabrication, Tests, etc.
Analysis:
We are currently looking at correlation between the number of turns of the endoscope handle to the number of degrees of actuation of the tip
Design:
The final design has the actuation cables running through the side holes of the passive elements up to the actuated tip, since the camera hole diameter was too small to have the actuation wires run through the middle without having too much friction
Crimps were used to constrain the ends of the actuation cables to the actuated tip.
Fishing wire was used for the actuation wires (has 20lb breaking force)
Test:
We are conducting force test with a force gauge on the obstacle course (lazy susan)
Looking at the initial force of insertion as well as the stress caused by initial insertion
Accomplishments from Previous Week
Cleaned and assembled a majority of our final printed parts
Goals for Next Week (list names after each item). Use specific and measurable objectives.
Jorge: Continue looking into overtube design, help in manufacturing
George: Assemble final product
Kazu: Finish force testing
Avinash: Finish getting degrees per turn data
Sponsor Comments from Last Meeting and Actions Taken to Address these Comments (indicate date of comments and if via email or in person)
(Dr. Talke) Postponed our meeting from last week so that we can focus on building the final endoscope. Therefore, we have no comments this week.
