156B Week 5
Overview of Status of Analysis, Design, Fabrication, Tests, etc.
Analysis:
The force required to bend the tip of the endoscope was found to be (min, max) (0.25N,1N)
Design:
A test box with a flexible tip was printed and fabricated.
Test:
The SMA test bed is still under production.
The force from the smallest diameter SMA spring was tested and found to be 0.66N.
The force from the larger diameter SMA spring was tested and found to be 1N.
Accomplishments from Previous Week
Simple obstacle course was made.
Multiple stiffness linkage was printed successfully.
Goals for Next Week (list names after each item). Use specific and measurable objectives.
Jorge: Fix mechanical design to fit SMA springs/ Redesign flexible tip
George: CAD obstacle course
Kazu: Finish assembly of SMA test bed/ Begin SMA testing
Avinash: Use BeagleBone Code to test actuation on flexible tip
