156B Week 1
Overview of Status of Analysis, Design, Fabrication, Tests, etc.
Analysis:
The result from our linear actuation mathematical analysis persuaded us to look into SMA actuation.
FEA tests on our mechanical design have highlighted critical stress areas on our 3-D printed components.
Design:
The mechanical design is being narrowed down and finalized so that we can focus on actuation and control.
Tests:
The creation of a silicone organ obstacle course is under development to test the reliability of our design.
The parameters of the SMA wires that were purchased are under testing.
Accomplishments from Previous Week
Met with medical professional to discuss areas of focus for our design along with certain constraints.
Developed a risk reduction view on the current scope of our progress.
Goals for Next Week (list names after each item). Use specific and measurable objectives.
Kazu: Conduct tests on purchased SMA wires.
Avinash: Conduct tests on purchased SMA wires.
Adam: Look further into material properties of heat shrink and TangoBlack.
Jorge: Finalize the first iteration of the mechanical design of the endoscope.
George: Look into overtube design and gather free samples | begin development of silicone organ obstacle course.
