Overview of Status of Analysis, Design, Fabrication, Tests, etc.
Ran risk reductions & discussed areas of concern for the 3 dispenser ideas
Created design constraints for dispenser prototype to be used in a matrix based off a project screening matrix
Will present results of risk reduction to class on Tuesday, March 15, 2016
Accomplishments from Previous Week
Finalized risk reduction for dispenser instead of sampling device
Purchased hardware parts: PVC pipes, rope, chain, cord winder
Machined and assembled parts
Ran risk reduction tests and analyzed modes of failure
Goals for Next Week (list names after each item). Use specific and measurable objectives.
Research sampling device ideas
Create a few sampling mechanism ideas to discuss week 1 of spring quarter
Find ways to improve dispenser functionality

David and Joseph met with Chuck on March 8 to find algae along the coast. The meeting was uneventful, but he said that there is more likelihood of finding them more north (near Camp Pendleton)
Instructor Comments from Last Meeting and Actions Taken to Address these Comments (indicate date of comments and if via email or in person)
Instructor said that he would finalize the budget concerns with the sponsor in the upcoming week
He also suggested we use the a UCSD swimming pool for prototype tests

Risks and Areas of Concern
Manufacturing of dispensing component
Telescoping rod prototype idea of manually changing levels with a pin was tedious
We would like to implement a more convenient method, if we decide to implement this idea
