Avi has a long history with Denver Academy and has been working with students here for over 15 years. Avi wants students to know that his struggles in school shaped him as a person and an author. Because he is dysgraphic, writing has always been a challenge. After flunking high school classes, Avi’s parents found a reading tutor for him. She said something that changed Avi’s entire world: “You are an interesting person with interesting ideas. If you wrote better, people would know it.” At that point, Avi set his mind on becoming an author.
