On Wednesday, April 8, 2026, Alyson Gerber met with our 5th-8th grade students to celebrate the publication of Alyson's newest book in her New York Times bestselling series The Liars Society, book #3. This visit was made possible by Composition Shop in Longmont.

Alyson shared that she hated to read when she was younger and that she struggled in school. Now, as an adult, she's been diagnosed with ADHD and dyslexia, but her struggles in school coupled with physical challenges she had while she was growing up caused much anger and anxiety. She shared that some of the adults in her life had talked around her, down to her, or made her feel like her feelings didn't matter. She did share that her librarian offered a safe space and encouraged her to read, and finally, she connected with the book The Westing Game. Her love of that book and her exploration of writing led her to writing The Liars Society, a series that has hooked readers around the country.
