HOURS

Students are welcome in the Library Learning Center (LLC) from 7:40 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. every school day. Students have the opportunity to work in the LLC and study independently with a limited amount of supervision. Students who come to the LLC are expected to use their time wisely. Students may come to the LLC during the day by getting a library pass from a classroom teacher.

OPEN LAB

Additional supervised lab time is available to students 7:40-8:10 a.m. before school and 3:20-5:00 p.m. after school Monday-Thursday during most school weeks.

  • Morning LLC Use:
    • Students who wish to enter the building and work COLLABORATIVELY in the LLC (studying, reading, working on projects, using LLC STEM materials, etc.) will be allowed to enter the LLC space at 7:40. These students do NOT have to be on the Early Bird List. This space will be supervised by Ms. Fumarolo.
    • Students who wish to enter the building and to work SILENTLY in the LLC will be directed to the Computer Lab, which will be a designated quiet zone. Students will be allowed to enter this space at 7:40. These students do NOT have to be on the Early Bird List. This space will be supervised by Ms. Hansen.

MATERIALS CHECK OUT

Books other than those designated "overnight materials" may be checked out for two (2) weeks and renewed for two (2) more. Back issues of magazines may be checked out for two (2) weeks.

Encyclopedias, reference materials, and materials designated as “overnight materials” may be checked out overnight. They can be signed out after 3:00 p.m. and should be returned before 1st period the next school day.

Fines for overdue books and magazines are $.05 per day. Fines for overnight materials (reference) are $1.00 per period or $9.00 per day. Lost materials are charged to the student at the following rate: market price of item if available or $4.00 per magazine, $10.00 per "paperback", and $15.00 per hardcover fiction book and $20.00 per non-fiction book.

When a material is overdue, a student receives overdue notices until that material is returned or the fine is paid.

EQUIPMENT IN THE LLC

Computers and other equipment are available for student use in the LLC before or after school as well as during the day. Classroom assignments or projects have first priority.

STUDENT ASSISTANTS

Student volunteers help in the LLC by stamping cards, checking out materials, putting materials away, etc.
