D-E students in the Middle School are only permitted to install authorized apps on the student's school iPad. An app is authorized if it appears in the Self Service app. Apps are added to the authorized list and Self Service after being approved by a teacher, department chair, and the Chief Innovation Officer (Ms. Gross). Apps for Lower School student iPads must be installed by the Technology Department.
Teachers will need to provide the following information to their Department Chair when requesting an iPad app be added to the authorized app list:
Name of app
Link to the app in Apple App Store (preferred) or name of app publisher (to easily identify the app)
Purpose of the use of the app (One or two sentences regarding how the use will improve Teaching and Learning.) This will be shared on the Digital Resources at D-E list, which is viewable only by D-E faculty and staff.
