Courses in Esthetics and Hair Styling are held on the Lloydminster campus.
Do you enjoy interacting with people, an active work day, and working with your hands? Are you interested in health and wellness, a possible career in the beauty industry and making people feel great about themselves? Then consider joining us for two new BTPS/ Lakeland CTS courses! Introduction to Esthetics and Hair Styling will be hosted on the Lloydminster campus in their state-of-the-art salons, with college level instructors! Students experience learning in a real teaching salon within the school of Health and Wellness with college level instructors.
HAIR STYLING LEVEL 1:
Students will develop increased appreciation for the significance of personal grooming in various life situations, as well as the knowledge and skills required to maintain a personal health safety plan.
Learn basic health and safety considerations of working in a salon setting, improve your communication skills, and develop hands on skills for long hair styles including a variety of braiding techniques.
HAIR STYLING LEVEL 2:
Students dig deeper into creative long hair design in Level 2. They use photos and images as guides to recreate a variety of hair designs using long hair techniques. Then further advance to producing symmetrical and asymmetrical long hair designs and become more knowledgeable with long hair designs to suit different facial, personality and situational needs as well as advanced safe and sanitary practices. They also explore possible life roles related to the skills and content of this design area.
Note: WHMIS is not required for this course.

Complete and sign the Registration Paper - Form
Return completed form to the school principal for approval
The school will submit student information through on-line registration form (button below)
(access is ONLY for school administrators, submissions by anyone other than a school administrator will not be authorized)
The school will be notified by Central Services as quickly as possible about registration status.

Additional info: Registrations are accepted during the school year through the school coordinator, and are based on a first come first served queue.

ESTHETICS LEVEL 1:
Learn the art of making someone feel great by promoting wellness - an important part of health care. You will be provided with the theory and hands on skills to do specialized skin care treatments.
Students will also learn the importance of addressing skin care, body image and stress issues for yourself and others. Learn to do manicures and facials with professional products.
ESTHETICS LEVEL 2:
Skin Care practices include students identify the basic structures and functions of the skin. Students analyze skin and perform basic skin care practices, including cleansing, toning, nourishing and protecting.
And with focus on make-up, students analyze facial shapes and features and perform basic make-up techniques.
Note: WHMIS is not required for this course.
