Planning, managing and providing therapeutic services, diagnostic services, health informatics, support services, and biotechnology research and development are all functions of health science careers.





Science Technology Engineering & Math.png

The fields of science, technology, engineering and mathematics involve planning, managing and providing scientific research and professional and technical services (such as physical science, social science and engineering). These may include laboratory and testing services, as well as research and development.

Wellness approach to health. Covers current health topics that contain both motivation and information to help teenagers make positive health decisions for today and for long term use.  TOPICS TO INCLUDE: Mental Health, Emotional Health, Nutrition & Disease Prevention, Substance Use & Abuse, Family LIfe & Personal Health

55430    Health Careers Exploration
0.5 credit - 1 semester
Grades: 11-12
This course is designed to introduce the student to a wide variety of health careers. The nature and scope of the profession including the educational and physical requirements, as well as personal characteristics of each career is discussed. The healthcare system with a historical perspective is presented. The student is introduced to ethical, legal, and safety considerations in healthcare. 


Nurse-Family Partnership
Students will be awarded 0.5 elective credit for each semester after successfully participating in the Nurse-Family Partnership Program.
