PPfT Leadership Pathway Program Expectations
The PPfT Leadership Pathways Program
PPfT Leadership Pathways are optional professional learning opportunities within the Professional Pathways for Teachers (PPfT) Human Capital System. These rigorous, two-year programs support teachers’ professional growth, development, and leadership in a district priority area - Differentiated Instruction, Language and Literacy, Mathematical Reasoning, SEL and CP&I, and Transformative Technology. Upon the successful completion of a PPfT Leadership Pathway, a teacher will earn 15 compensation points.
Program Participation Expectations
Over the course of a PPfT Leadership Pathway, teachers are required to:
participate in 48 hours of in-person and/or online professional learning designed specifically for the PPfT Leadership Pathway (12 hours per micro-credential);
fully engage in all activities associated with the specified in-person and/or online professional learning, such as but not limited to in-person and online discussion forums, book studies, quizzes, and reflection activities;
complete all assignments, including online activities and document submissions, by the due dates established by the PPfT Leadership Pathway Lead Teams;
apply components learned from the specified professional learning sessions for each micro-credential in their own classroom to impact student outcomes;
work independently to create a professional and polished final submission for each micro-credential that showcases how the teacher has implemented and integrated components from the specified professional learning into their classroom practice to impact student outcomes and submit this final submission by the established due date for each micro-credential;
fully engage in the Leadership Opportunity and complete the Celebrate Your Story assignment specified by your PPfT Leadership Pathway at the end of micro-credential 4;

Upon successful completion of a two-year PPfT Leadership Pathway process, a teacher will receive 15 compensation points. No partial points will be awarded.
Please note - Per the AISD leave policy, teachers who are on leave may not complete any work-related activities, including professional development, and PPfT Appraisal/Compensation activities. If a teacher takes leave while enrolled in a PPfT Leadership Pathway, they should reach out to the Office of Employee Effectiveness at leadershippathways@austinisd.org or 512-414-1101 to discuss their options.
Please note - individual PPfT Leadership Pathway sessions are NOT PLED eligible. For the full PLED policy around Leadership Pathways, please see the PLED Guidelines.
