Rubric for Online Lesson

WATCH VIDEO while walking through these steps.

1. Define what you want your students to be able to do.

2. Gather resources-- Graphics or Examples ahead of time.

3. You can use LARGE fonts and film your computer screen if that is all you have.

4. Outline your lesson so that you can move through each point easily.

5. Post this outline on your website next to your YouTube URL.

6. Practice your lesson before filming and then practice filming.

    • Welcome your students. “Welcome, glad you could make it today. We are going to be learning about….”

    • State your objective so that students and parents understand what should be accomplished.

Example: The student will be able to multiply by 10 any number from 1 to 100.

    • Explain any resources needed for the lesson.

    • Present your lesson and then add a resource section for further study, discussion questions, and response instructions (your email address, etc). If they have questions what should they do?

    • Invite them to your next session. Give the approximate date of the next video. “See you tomorrow!”

    • You can go directly to YouTube and click GO LIVE to send your video to your channel OR

    • If you recorded your lesson, Save your video in a location you can find (your desktop temporarily is fine!)

    • Open your email and click on the Google Grid

, Click on YouTube App. You may have to sign in with your Arp Gmail if this is a new app for you.

    • Click on the Add Video icon.

    • Please be aware that your video will NOT be available for a while as it is being translated into a YouTube video. Be patient.

    • You may add comments to your video – further instructions or other resources once it is uploaded.

    • If you film using your iPhone or iPad, you can email the video to yourself or directly move it to YouTube, Dropbox, or Google Drive from your IOS apps. This may take some time. Make note of the NAME of your video. You will want to change it (example: img_4690) to Yourlastname_Lesson_1_1
