Before you start, a few important points:
Try multiple interventions
Try each intervention for a minimum of 4-weeks and over 1 intervention may be implemented at the same time.

Acknowledging positive behavior

Teach coping skills

Call everything “stupid” or “dumb”
Frequently diminish achievements, accomplishments, and other positive things
Minimize the successes of others
Refuse to participate and take part in activities and discussions
Be non-compliant
Argue and bicker
Challenge others’ ideas and opinions
Be dismissive
Never have anything nice or productive to say
Always find fault in everything
Pessimism
Always think of the worst that will or could happen
Fatalistic
Sour demeanor
Say they don’t care, don’t want to do something, or hate things
Have a look of dissatisfaction
Talk back
Show frequent anger
