Why is Homeschooling Beneficial?

Did you know that studies show that homeschooled children have similar social skills as children in traditional public school?
Although many people make the assumption that homeschooled students don't have great social skills, statistically that is not true. This is only one of many reasons I believe homeschooling is beneficial.
There are three main types of homeschooling methods. First, there is traditional homeschooling where parents or tutors teach the student from home. The child will get a replication of public school. The second method is online schooling, where students can take occasional online classes to get a break from traditional homeschooling, or they can take full virtual school. This includes real teachers teaching over video and guiding students through activities, lessons, and homework posted online. Finally, the last method of homeschooling is called unschooling. This is when the child can choose when and what they want to study. They are never forced to study.
When homeschooling there is an opportunity for personalized learning. The students and parents can change the pace of their learning as necessary. If the student is learning something quickly they can move faster in the lesson or if the child is struggling they can take more time to understand the material.
Studies have shown that homeschooled students perform better on standardized tests and have higher academic achievements then children in public school. Even if the parent teaching has not had any other experience in education. If students are homeschooled they will also stay out of school threats, fires, lockdowns, and more. Parents can also add religion to the students' lesson. While in public school religious education is not regularly available.
I do understand that some people might not want to do homeschooling because it limits social opportunity. However, homeschooled students will have more time outside of school for social activities. Students could also join homeschool groups where the students will have the opportunity to socialize with other kids who are homeschooled. This will also give kids the experience of talking to kids who share similar schooling experiences.
I recommend that you look into local homeschool groups. You might find a group that works for your family or child. Homeschooling is a great way to personalize your child's school experience and improve their academic abilities. I hope this article helped you learn more about what homeschooling is really like.
