Rating a few of the 2024 Grammy Outfits
The 2023 Grammys took place on February 4, 2024. A few people that won this year were: Taylor swift with her album “Midnights”, Billie Ellish with her single “What was I Made For?” and SZA with her song “Snooze”. There were obviously many more winners that I haven't mentioned. You can view these photos and additional information about this year's Grammys at vanityfair.com. Please also keep in mind that these are just my personal opinions and nothing is meant to offend anyone, so thank you and enjoy!
Starting with Taylor Swift she was wearing a custom Schiaparelli. Photo by Kevin Mazur. This dress is elegant and flowy. It feels classy, so I’d probably give it an 8/10 overall.
Next up, Lana Del Rey, photo by Lester Cohen. She was seen wearing a dress by Fred Leighton jewelry. This dress in my opinion doesn't really represent her style of music. She seems like a more light and flowy type of person. I would rate it a 6/10 overall.
Our next celebrity is Olivia Rodrigo in a vintage Versace dress. I think this dress does actually express Olivia’s message that she sends. Her music is supposed to be relatable and majority of the time soft. One of the main things I dislike about this dress are the straps. This one is probably 8.5/10 overall.
Next up, John Batiste, wearing Atelier Versace and a Vacheron Constantin watch. I think this outfit is unique because men don’t usually wear skirts and dresses, but I think it's interesting that he decided to break that stereotype. Otherwise, I think it is kind of bland considering it's just grey. That being said, I’d rate it a 5/10.
Dua Lipa in custom Courreges and Tiffany & Co. jewelry. I think this dress is very sparkly. I also think that her colored hair and even more of a fun feeling to the outfit. On an additional note, her jewelry is stunning and adds even more to the outfit. Overall, I rate this one a 8/10, mostly because I think it reflects her style of music.
Janelle Monáe in custom Giorgio Armani Privé and David Yurman jewelry. Photo by Frazer Harrison. I think the dress looks really nice on her and I think the big silver accent flower in the middle of the dress adds a lot to the dress and really ties it together. Overall I’d rate it a 9/10.
Samara Joy in Carlton Jones Collection and Alexis Bittar jewelry. Photo by Matt Winkelmeyer. I think this shimmery gold color really suits her, I also think that her makeup ties in the whole outfit. I think it is perfectly simple. 9/10
Photo by Lester Cohen. Ed Sheeran arrived in this camo jacket and pants set. I think this looks really messy and much too laid back for the Grammys. I really dislike this one. 2/10
Finneas in Emporio Armani and Billie Eilish in Chrome Hearts, photo by Kevin Mazur. I think Billie Eilish's jacket is really fitting due to the fact that she actually won a Grammy with her song from the Barbie movie. Finneas Emporio looks classy and simple. So overall (the both of them) 7/10.
Dawn Richard in Khosrov, photo by Matt Winklemeyer. This dress is a really fun and eye-catching idea. But the functionality of the dress is interesting. In addition, I think the deep red looks really nice on her. 8/10 for creativity.
Sheila E., photo by Allen J. Schaben. In my opinion this one looks like a Chinese finger trap. I can see the vision, but I think it was executed incredibly poorly. 2/10.
Thank you for reading and I hope you’ve formed your own opinions on a few of these few outfits from the 2024 Grammys.
