You're finally walking on to a college campus. There's so many things you want to do. You can’t wait to play college football. Well, 12 year old Howie Clark V has dreams of doing the same thing. Howie is an only child in the Clark house with one dog named Qubbie. He wants to go to college to mostly play football; colleges he wants to go to are the University of Oregon, Ohio State University, University of Florida, and Notre Dame
College doesn’t sound like a fun place. College is optional but you should go to get a better education. However, there are also college sports and every school has different sports at different skill levels. Colleges can be in Division 1(D1), Division 2(D2), or Division 3(D3), Division 1 being the best out of the three. The four schools that Howie listed are all D1 schools for football; Ohio State University is located in Columbus, OH, The University of Oregon is located in Eugene, OR, The University of Florida is located in Gainesville, FL, and Notre Dame University is located in South Bend, IN.
In college, you get to plan your own schedules. You can also choose from hundreds or thousands of classes. Howie wants to major in Physical Education so he can learn what's healthy or not for him.
For some colleges sports are a big deal, take the University of Georgia for example. Their football program is number one in the country. All the schools Howie wants to go have football as their number one sport. According to Google, the best college in the country is Stanford University with an acceptance rate of four percent and a graduation of ninety four percent. The second best college is Massachusetts Institute of Technology with an acceptance rate of four percent and a graduation rate of ninety five percent.
College is a chance to learn, play sports, make friends, and a lot more, so there's no reason not to go. College does cost a lot of money, but it’s worth it. College helps with getting a job that helps get money then a house and a car. Now does college sound fun?
