School Day

Starting the Day

The school day starts at 8:45am and the gates are open from 08:35 to allow children to filter in to the building. Parents and carers may drop children at the front or back gate. Children are always met by staff and enter the school premises independently, heading straight to their classrooms where the teacher will greet them. Reception have their own gate to their playground, at the front of the school. Nursery always enter at the back gate directly in to the nursery setting. Senior staff are always on the gate each morning to answer any questions or relay messages. The school office is also open from 08:35 to support parents and carers. Once the gates are closed at 08:45, staff head in to the school building so parents and carers will be required to sign their child in at the office.

On arrival to class, fresh bagels are available for pupils, as they settle in to their early morning activities. These are part of our Magic Breakfast offer to keep hungry tummies at bay.

Morning Playtimes

Children have their playtime between 10:30 and 10:45.

All children have free fruit offered at break time and we encourage all our staff and children to drink water regularly. Children are provided with a school water bottle, which is kept in school and sterilised every evening. It is filled with fresh water the following school day.

Lunch

Children in Reception have their lunch at 11:50 - 12:50

Children in Years 1 - 4 have their lunch at 12.00 - 13:00

Children in Years 5 & 6 have their lunch break at 12.15 - 13:15

End of Day

At the end of the school day, parents can collect children in nursery and reception at 15:00 from their own playgrounds. The children in Years 1 - 4 can be collected from the playground at the front of the school. Year 5 & 6 pupils can be met at the front gate at the bottom fo the drive. Pupils in Year 6 may have permission to travel home independently, in collaboration with parents and carers.

If normal collection arrangements have to be altered (e.g. you are delayed or another person is collecting your child) please let us know. This avoids any confusion or upset.

Getting to school

To get to and from school, walking, cycling or scooting are definitely the best options!

There are lots of benefits: it’s healthier than travelling by car; it improves the safety of pedestrians and road-users and it respects nearby residents and parking regulations. If you do need to travel by car, please park wisely.
