Our Staff

Senior Leadership Team

Jo Campbell: Headteacher

I am incredibly proud to be the Headteacher of OVPA. Our school is a very special place, full of fabulous young people who never cease to amaze us. I am privileged to work with a wonderful staff team who prioritise the wellbeing of our pupils and provide them with rich, life-changing opportunities. I love coming to work - every, single day!

Josh Paramor: Deputy Headteacher

I feel exceptionally lucky to be apart of the OVPA team. It is a pleasure to work with a highly motivated team who give everything to provide the best opportunities to all children. I enjoy seeing the children develop everyday and the efforts the children put in to be the best they can be!

Candy Bazell: Teaching, Learning & Curriculum Lead

I started teaching in the last century and have been a SENCo for more than a decade. I love gardening, cycling and cooking curries; although never at the same time. My home is guarded by chickens and my secret skill is juggling – actual and metaphorical!

Jennifer Old: Business Manager

I work across four TKAT Schools, including Ore Village Primary Academy, managing the finance and site teams to ensure the schools meet their financial objectives and that the premises are well looked after. In my spare time I volunteer at District Scouting events and I enjoy reading, gardening, walking and camping with my family.

Being kind and having light-hearted fun is at the centre of everything I do! I will often spend most of my time (when no one is watching) cheesy dancing and singing. If I am not doing this, then you will either find me watching Harry Potter, spending time with my very cute house rabbit or socialising with family and friends.

I am a vegetarian who loves anything to do with animals and nature. I enjoy taking my children on adventurous walks but I am quite scared of the creepy crawlies that we find.

Simon Bula-Edge: Year 5 & 6 Teacher, Science and Forest School Lead

Before I was a teacher I was a Bank Manager! A fun job, if only because I got to count a lot of money. When I'm not in the classroom or out in the woods, I enjoy taking photos. I am also a local Scout Leader.

Ben Newell: Year 5 & 6 Teacher

I am in my third year now at OVPA.  Originally from Scotland, I am passionate about the environment and nature.  My hobbies include reading, cheese (I used to be a cheesemonger to the Queen), history and hiking.  I am also happy to say I am the History Lead for the 23/24 academic year.  History is a huge interest of mine and vital to our learning and culture: "Time isn't deep, it is always all around us" as my favourite writer, Robert Macfarlane, commented on history.
