Post date: Mar 24, 2018 4:41:11 PM

Each year the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences awards Outstanding Academic Scholarship Awards to two of its graduate students, selected from a very competitive pool. This year, one of its recipients is set to be Joanne Lin, who is a fourth year PhD student in the Mathematics Department under the advisement of Dr. Xiaozhe Hu. Joanne was also recently awarded a top prize in the student competition for the Copper Mountain Conference on Iterative Methods, which is believed to be the top conference in her area of research.

As mathematics department graduate director Dr. Kim Ruane puts it, "getting this award at this stage is an indicator of great things to come," we look forward to more achievements and great research from Joanne.

Joanne is set to receive the honor at the annual GSAS Awards Ceremony on April 27, 2018 in the Distler Performance Hall, at 3:45 pm.

We extend our heartiest congratulations to Joanne and her advisor Dr. Hu for this fantastic achievement!
