A dog therapy session was held for the math graduate students by the Tufts University Counseling and Mental Health Services (CMHS) on January 19th, 2016.

Two dogs: Maddie and Toby came to help math graduate students cope with the stress caused by research, qualifying exams, or just everyday life. Quite a many graduate students got drive by kisses from Maddie, a golden retriever, while many were comforted by the effortless cuteness of Toby, a corgi.

The Tufts CMHS also gave some stress paws as handouts which were immediately being put to use, right as the therapy session, which lasted an hour, ended.

The session was made possible by the efforts of OGSM Vice President Andrew Sanchez in conjunction with Dr. Jay Soucy, Dr. Darleen Gracia and a veterinary student from the Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine at Tufts University. Toby came through the Paws for People program at the veterinary school while Maddie is from the Tufts CMHS.
