Directions:

There are several entrances to Stoke Newington Reservoirs / Woodberry Wetlands and the New River Path, which runs for about one kilometre along the north side of the site:

  • the East gate to Woodberry Wetlands and the New River Path is on Newnton Close, N4 (off Bethune Road, N16) via the footbridge over the New River (photo).
  • Woodberry Grove / Lordship Road, N16 runs between the two basins with entrances on both sides (photo),
  • From Kayani Avenue, N4 (off Woodberry Down) next to the Redmond Centre for Stoke Newington West reservoir.
  • the main entrance to the West reservoir is on Green Lanes (A105) for the Watersports Centre and Castle Climbing. For the New River Path and Capital Ring cross the wooden footbridge (signposted, photo) 75 metres past the Castle Climbing Centre on the left.

Getting here:

By Underground.

Manor House on the Piccadilly Line is the closest underground station – 10 minutes walk east via Seven Sisters Road and Woodberry Down to the Woodberry Grove/Lordship Road main entrances or south to the West Reservoir along Green Lanes.

By Bus.

Buses 141 and 341 pass by the main gate to the West Reservoir on Green Lanes at the western end of the site. Myddleton Avenue is the closest bus stop from the south, the nearest stop from the north is Lordship Park. Look for the ‘Castle’ climbing centre (photo).

Buses 253 and 254 run along Seven Sisters Road and Amhurst Park on the north side of the site. Alight at Bethune Road for the London Wildlife Trust east entrance to Woodberry Wetlands on Newnton Close, N4. Bus 106 along Lordship Park, N16 stops at the Green Lanes bus stop within a 5 minute walk of the West Reservoir gate.

By Rail.

Stamford Hill station is a 7 - 10 minute walk along Amhurst Park to Bethune Road, N16 for the east gate to Woodberry Wetlands on Newnton Close. Or bus 253 or 254.

Stoke Newington station is a 10-15 minute walk via Manor Road then north along Bethune Road or Lordship Road. Or bus 106 runs along Manor Road and Lordship Park.

By Car.

Parking is very limited in the residential streets around the reservoirs. At the West Reservoir centre there is a small car park which closes at 5 p.m. (30 spaces).
