Colors

Yawurenyi

Yawurenyi use infixes for colors. in the rare event a color must stand alone, it is given an elemental prefix.

night "colors"

-shik- white (peshik) [high contrast]

-mim- (pemim) [2nd degree contrast]

-pek- [third degree contrast]

-fea- gray (fea doesn't take an element) [neutral contrast, can also mean colorless]

-sil- (lasil) [5th degree contrast]

-pua- (lapua) [6th degree contrast]

-nets(e)- black (lanetse) [low contrast]

day "colors"

-an- orange (often translates as red/yellow, explanation later) (dan)

-i- blue (often translates as green or purple, i'll explain that later) (nii or just ni)

Variations

These are used to clarify color when context doesn't say.

-es- bright, vivid

-tun- rich, deep, bold

so red is (d)antun, yellow is (d)anes; green is nies, violet is niitun

If a human or quanafi were referring to something brown in yawu they would say dusilan, but such a color is not distingushable to the yawu eye.

Micq’on

Micqon divide the visual world into two spectrums,  Uprat (upratem=land, shore) and sesep (Losesep=water, lake, sea, etc.). All other colors are considered variations on those except Terr and Desh which denote colors of plants, which abide in both land and water). unlike Uprat and Sesep, the other colors are derived from things rather than have things derived from them.
