Technical adjustments:

You can enter the room directly whenever you like, and follow the explanations (detailed or in slides)

It is recommended to make a trial session with a member of the organization.

You should be prepared to take part at the general essay for teachers, on march 17 (with the same timing as on march 24)

The session

The teachers from every school should enter the room at least 1 hour in advance before the beginning of the session. This time is necessary to be sure that everything is OK with connection, audio and vide requirements. After checking, you can leave the session opened until 30 minutes before the opening (for monday 24, this means 9:00 UTC), where the students can begin to ocupy their places in fromt of the webcam.

A teacher should be all the time with the student, trying not to be seen by the webcam. This teacher should have the list of participating schools with emails and phone numbers, and try to make contact by these means if there is any trouble.

During the session, every school shoud have disconnected the audio (green microphone, dashed) and only connect it when the moderator from the University tells him to speak.

In case of any troubles during the session, every participant should follow strictly the advices of the moderator, this is the only way in which the conference can avoid becoming a disaster!

If the connection problem of any school in not easy resolved, they shall disconnect their audio and webcam and follow the rest of the session as a participant, interacting by chat with the others.

At the end of the session, there will be a last chance to try to get this school again into the session.

If it fails, please take into account that this is only the first of a series of similar experiences where this school, once the problem gets fixed, can take part again.

Presentation

Every school will have from 3 to 5 minutes, where one (or more) students should make the following presentations:

1-Slideshow

After two or three slides to present your country, locality and school, you can present an interesting activiy of your school about Peace Education (or any other ASPnet activity.

Make a power point presentation wth big images and brief texts because the slides will ocupy only a part of the screen. Don´t put animations, transitions or video effects. Send it in original format and exported to pdf before friday 21.

If you want to use your own language at the presentation, please follow one of these procedures:

a) Present the text of the slides and English, while the student speaks in his/her own language

b) Present the text in any language, while the student speaks in English.

2-Mandela sentence

You can select a sentence from this table (the idea is to cover together as much sentences as possible).

Your students can present the sentence in any of the languages of your school, making at the same time the international signs (you can see a video explaining the gestures for every sentence at the right column of this same site).

3-Short Poem

Optionally, you can present a small poem (from 4 to 6 lines) to commeorate the World Day of Poetry.

The poem should be recited in the original language while the student makes the international signs for the main ideas.

You can see here some examples of poems from different countries presented using this same technique. .

You can prepare the poem by yourself, or send it to the organization. You will receive the text with attached signs, and every sign with a link that explains how to make the gesture.

4-Greetings

Your student can finally greet the other participants in several languages, in this case you can use also some of the signs that we have selected here.

Please don´t get further than the time assigned for every participant.

You can see examples of similar presentations in a previous session (in Spanish).
