In defending its actions KFRS pulled staticial data from the past 5 years showing the use of vehicles.

"Useless bureaucrats" was a term used by an unamed union member. The support against the cuts is building with the ULFU (United Lego Firefighters Union) representing all paid firefighters, VLFA (Volunteer Lego Firefighters Association), council members of the opposition. As well has community action groups.

A spokesperson from the ministers office downplaying the cuts commented that for every 5 positions represent 1 single actual loss on the frontline, due to the roster system which also allows for staff annual leave & scheduled training.

Of course this hasn't played well with the opposing voices.

Negotiations between parties will occur over the next week with hopefully a resolution in sight.

A union member asked the question: With a new station expected to open next year and layoff happening now, will there be enough skilled firefighters to provide coverage the community requires and deserves.
