On the Air (Radio Info)

Kyola Fire & Rescue utilise radio callsigns and message codes as delevoped by Queensland Fire & Rescue Service (QFRS). These are used to quickly identify and pass standard messages to crews and staff at the communications centre.

Radio Codes

Code 1 - Arrived and Investigating

Code 2 - Arrived - Incident evident, investigating

Code 4 - Returning to station

Code 5 - Returned to station / On station

Code 6 - Malicious false alarm

Code 7 - Returning to station to replenish

Code 8 - Arrived and checking with incident commander

Code 9A - Ambulance Required

Code 9M / F - Male / Female

Code 9C -Coroner Required

Code 11 - Justified call

Code 20 - High rise building procedure

Code 30 - Low Priority (No light or siren)

Code 40 - Turnout cancelled - Return to station

Code 99 - Large fire

Case 1 - High pressure, small diameter hose, from truck tank

Case 2 - Large diameter hoses run directly off mains

Case 3 - Large diameter hoses run off truck.

Case 4 - Large diameter hoses run off static supply (dams, domestic water tanks, pools etc)
