The rain was bitter sweet as it was welcome but reminded all of the losses that occurred during this event.

There were 4 major fires across the city with 94 residential structures and 29 commercial structures lost over the 4 days. Tragically 7 persons lost their life in the fires.

All of the city crews and appliances were at work and several other departments contributed to the effort.Four taskforces were sent, South Mason (2), Westland City (1), New Worchester (1). Westland city was used to cover the fire stations to ensure fire protection was continued in the city. The other task forces were sent to one of the major fires.

South Mason & New Worchester crews have been sent home, with a huge thanks and a pat on the back. Westland has been requested to stay for another 24hrs.
