Site Information

This is a fictitious fire department, and in no way is endorsed & reflects the views of the Lego Group, nor any actual fire authority, and any resemblance to a real place or person is coincidental.

The current map of Kyola is based on the Australian city of Canberra, as its terrain & size reflect the city to which Kyola resembles. Radio codes, callsigns operations doctrine or SOPs are based from Queensland Fire & Rescue Service.

The name Kyola, was selected as "it popped into my head". I recall a Japanese city name (Kyoto) and I played with it, did a google search, found nothing so used it. Since then I have found the name used in several location on the web. Was I the first?? Guess we'll never know.

Inspiration

Like many other early Lego Fire Departments I was inspired by the works of Eric S. McDonald (Lego City Fire Department). In 2002 Eric's life was tragically cut short. Jeff Christner of Sixby Fire has a fitting tribute.
