HICKLING

A Brief History of the Village from Medieval Times to the Present ©

By Ivor Kemp

This book, published in 2005, relates some of the key events and characteristics of the ancient Broadland village of Hickling, Norfolk.

Containing a wealth of historical information, its author, Ivor Kemp, was a key contributor, in the year 2000, to the very successful Millennium Exhibition held in the Community Hall, from which the Hickling Local History Group was conceived.

He became the Group’s first chairman, and has done much over the past nine years to encourage research and recording of the history of the village and its people. The illustrations have been contributed by other History Group members or their friends.

We extend our thanks to Ivor for his hard work in the research and preparation of this book and for permission to publish it here for you to enjoy.

A great many copies were sold, necessitating several re-prints.

This book is now out of print.
