BXL Modeling Helper

This is one of my most used add-ins. It facilitates model development by assisting with:

          • Adding Data Validation

        • Creating Named Ranges

        • Removing Worksheet Protection

        • Un-hiding Worksheets

Data Validation not only restricts user inputs to meaningful entries but can also add documentation that appears when our mouse hovers over formula cells. This add-in streamlines the process of creating data validation.

Names are a good XL practice (See Names are Good). This add-in facilitates adding names properly to models.

Worksheet Protection is required when restricting user entries to input cells (See Assigned Responsibility). But worksheet protection is not helpful during model development, testing and auditing. This add-in makes it easy to turn worksheet protection off during development.

Hidden Worksheets can improve the end user experience by keeping things irrelevant to users out of site. But all worksheets need to be visible during model development, testing, and auditing. This add-in makes it easy to show all worksheets during development.

    • Explore Formula feature is a must have for anyone working with other peoples' models. It expands formula references using each reference's label to translate cryptic cell address into human readable content.

    • It evaluates formula references so we can see each reference's value.

    • Navigate to any reference by double clicking it.

    • See each formula's transparency and complexity measure.

This add-in is meant for models prior to being placed into production. It is meant for modelers, testers, and auditors only. Do not distribute to end users.Get your copy by first downloading the instructions by clicking on the PDF link below. And yes, it's free.
