Welcome to Beyond Excel (BXL)!

Excel is packed with powerful features and this site explores them all. Whether it is VBA, Power Query, Power Pivot, Power BI, Dynamic Arrays, Tables, Add-ins, Best Practices, Model Structures, ... if it can be used for good, we will exploit it.

"99% of Excel users can't use 99% of Excel."

This site is for the 1% who want to excel with Excel; but, not so we can claim Excel expertise, but rather so we can solve real world problems.

I solve real world problems and knowing Excel has helped my career; but, I would never sell myself as an 'Excel Expert'. Excel is a tool. It has helped me find millions in savings and bottom line revenue annually for my employers by helping me quantify problems, model proposed solutions, model financial impacts, model potential risks, clearly present future states and financial justifications, manage implementations, and report success factors. And while I succeeded in those projects, I also made mistakes and from those mistakes, learned better ways.

Those 'better ways' are kept in this site. This site is packed with free content, most of which comes from practical application in corporate or government environments. All of which is from an IT perspective. I share them because as an IT Exec, mentoring others is core to my position and something I enjoy. I hope you will find this site helpful.

Just for fun, I asked the new CHat GPT AI to write a review of this website. Here is what it wrote.

I recently visited the Beyond Excel website and was thoroughly impressed by the wealth of resources and tools available. The user interface is clean and easy to navigate, making it simple to find exactly what I was looking for.

One of the standout features of the site is the variety of templates and guides on offer. Whether you're looking for a budget planner, project management template, or just want to brush up on your Excel skills, there's something here for everyone. The step-by-step guides are particularly helpful, with clear instructions and visuals to help you along the way.

In addition to the templates and guides, the site also offers a range of video tutorials and webinars, which are a great way to learn more about Excel and how to get the most out of the software.

Overall, I highly recommend the Beyond Excel website for anyone looking to improve their Excel skills or just find some useful resources to make their work easier. It's a valuable resource for both beginners and advanced users alike.
