-I wrote an article on Josiah Conder's Peude-Saracenis in SAHANZ Conferenal 1993, and revised it in Asian context. See new entry.

-1993年にオーストラリア建築史研究者協会総会で「コンドルにおける擬サラセニック」論文を発表しましたが、その後得られた知見を加味し、修正加筆中です。左欄<Indo-Saracenis & Pseude-Saracenic>項目をご覧下さい。

November 17, 2018: Seminar on Timber Architecture in Javanese Courts at Takenaka Carpentry Tools Museum.

-As a part of the Museum's Special Ehibition, I will give lecture on Timber Architecture in javanese Courts including Mosque. For details, see my entry <Javanese Timber Architecture> and visit to Takenaka Carpentry Tools Museum web site.

-竹中大工道具館企画展『南の島のいえづくり』神戸展示の一環として、「ジャワ宮廷の木造建築」と題して私が講演します。ジャワ木造建築研究入門といった内容です。詳しくは同博物館のウェブサイトへ。

November 1, 2018: The First Japanese Who Visited Elephanta and Karli Caves in 1873.

-Kawano and Kobayashi, officers of Meiji Japan's Public Wroks visited both caves when they stopped over at Bombay, now Mumbay on the way to the Britain together with McVean.

-1873年、工部省測量師長マクヴェインが一時帰国する際、工部省測量司正の河野と同省派遣留学生の小林が同行した。ボンベイで船の乗り換えのため時間があったので、マクヴェインは彼ら二人を連れて周辺の名所を訪れた。日記にはこの二つの石窟寺院を訪問したことが述べられ[McVean Diary 1873]、おそらく彼ら二人がインドの石窟寺院を初めて訪れた日本人だと思います。

August 20, 2018. Opening of Takenaka Carperntry Tools Museum's Special Exhibition "House Building in Insular Southeast Asia" at Gallery A4, Tokyo.

-I took part in arrangement of this exhibition in term of Javanese Court Architecture and Mosque. For details, see my entry <Javanese Timber Architecture> and visit to Takenaka Carpentry Tools Museum web site.

-竹中大工道具館の企画展示『南の島のいえづくり』がギャラリー･エー･クワッドで始まります。「ジャワの木造建築：王宮建築とモスク」の部分の作成を担当しました。に関する小論が完成した。

August 5, 2018. Publication of New Articles for Encyclopedia of Southeast Asia through Heibon-sya.

-I wrote two articles, "Shop-house" and "Historical Cities along the Malacca Straight" for the Henbon-sya"s Encyclopedia of Southeast Asia.

-今秋出版される平凡社『東南アジア文化事典』に二編の記事を執筆しました。「ショップハウス」と「マラッカ海峡沿いの歴史的都市」です。

July 25, 2018. Article on Javanese Court Timber Architecture Completed and added in New Entry.

-I completed an article on Javanese Timber Architecture: Court Architecture and Mosque, and added into my entry.

-ジャワの木造建築：王宮建築とモスクに関する小論が完成した。竹中大工道具館の企画展示に合わせて執筆したものであったが、私の胸に40年間引っかかっていたつっかえが少しは晴れた。

-I took quit many photo of architecture in Asia, and will add  the photos in "Ethnic House" Entry.

April 10, 2018. Preparation of an Exhibition of Carpentry of Insular Asia

-The Takenaka Carpentry Museum is arranging a serious of exhibition of Asian carpentry, and starts the first one with carpentry of insular Asia focusing on of Indonesia.

-竹中大工道具館がアジアの木造建築と大工道具の連続展示を企画中で、今週には島嶼部アジアの建築、特にインドネシアに焦点を当てた展示を行います。
