1935 Football Champions

The 1935 football squad won a shared Chesapeake Conference Championship with the Hampden-Sydney College squad. However, the season for the team was a story of grit. They had lost three games in a row when the team pledged the following oath:

"We, the undersigned members of the football squad, do hereby agree, on our honor, to keep in good training, attend practices as regularly as possible, and to learn the plays to the best of our ability. We further agree not shave until we have won a game."

Thus, a motivated Yellow Jacket team ended the season accruing wins against very tough opponents and a win against our eternal rivals - the Tigers!
