Group Identity

Group identity has the potential to provide prescriptive information for how group members ought to act and perform. We are interested in examining this phenomena. That is, we examine the question of how does the image that one has of their group/team/organization and the degree to which they identify with the group impact the direction and intensity of their performance. In this sense, a group identity serves as a group-regulatory mechanism. Our studies have examined performance appraisal ratings and safety compliance behaviors.

Theory of Planned Behavior

Also, We are currently conducting studies that examine the application of the Theory of Planned Behavior to the realm of Performance Management. While this theory has been applied to wide range of phenomena (e.g., health, academics, etc.) it has not been applied to Performance Management. We believe that Performance Management is fertile ground for the extension of this theory. Stay tuned....
