Help Bellevue, NE win a $100,000 grant by recycling!

Great news! Bellevue, NE has been chosen to participate in the Recyclebank and SC Johnson Green Choices Recycling Challenge, a nationwide competition to get us all recycling. By joining in, you could help us get a $100,000 grant towards a community environment project(s)! Approximately 5,000 residential homes in Bellevue are eligible to participate as our "challenge households." Are you one of them??

The Bellevue “challenge” households are all residents who are in the 68005 zip code north of Mission Street and who have the current “blue bin” curbside recycle program paid for with their trash service via their M.U.D. bill. This includes all single-family, duplex and three-plex homes with the 68005 zip code north of Mission Street. There are 5,089 such eligible households in Bellevue. The addresses of these residents have been submitted to Recycle Bank. These residents will be able to create an account on the Recycle Bank website to earn rewards for recycling. NOTE: If you are a current Recycle Bank customer with the enhanced recycling program - your participation process is different. Click here for details.

Challenge Period: July 2nd, 2012 – December 31st, 2012.The Green Choices Recycling Challenge is intended to encourage resident recycling participation in each participant community and award the community that exhibits through skill, innovation, planning, and other measures the most recycling participation during the Challenge Period with a grant to fund a green community project. Eligibility is limited to communities who have been solicited by Recycle Rewards, Inc. and agreed to participate in the Challenge. Member participation: Individual households registered with Recycle Rewards, Inc. within a participating community must self-report with Recycle Rewards, Inc. its recycling participation each month during the Challenge Period. Grant: $100,000 grant to be used for a project or program that promotes community sustainability. Complete Official Rules at: www.recyclebank.com/greenchoices.
