Hi! My name is Michelle Hill. I’ve been married to my husband for 23 years, and together we have three boys, ages 20, 18, and 13. This is my sixth year with Yosemite Valley Charter School and my fifth year working in the TK program.
I began my teaching career in 2003, teaching 5th grade in Central Unified. After becoming a mom in 2006, I spent about ten years at home with my boys and loved every bit of our busy, fun-filled days. Once they started school, I stayed active on their campuses and enjoyed being involved in their education. In 2015, I returned to the classroom as a push-in teacher for Clovis Unified. In this role, I supported TK–3rd–grade classrooms as a co-teacher in combination classes, as well as provided intervention to students. I really enjoyed working with such a wide range of grade levels and helping students who needed extra support.
In 2021, I joined Yosemite Valley Charter School, and I feel so grateful to have a role that allows me to partner with families on their homeschool journeys. Walking alongside parents and students during these early years has truly been a joy.
When I’m not teaching, I love traveling and spending time with family and friends. This past summer, we were lucky enough to travel as a family to Denmark, Germany, and Italy, where we soaked up some incredible real-life history lessons. We also enjoy heading to the mountains (Shaver Lake) whenever we can-whether it’s hiking, skiing, or just relaxing together in the fresh air. At home, I love reading, baking, and cheering on my boys in their activities, which keeps our family life fun and full.
I’m excited for another wonderful year in TK and look forward to supporting your family during this special and magical season of learning!
