My name is Leora Fuentes, and this is my sixth year working for Monarch River Academy. Prior to this job, I was a Dual Immersion Teacher at Burton School District, where I taught Kindergarten and First Grade in Spanish. I also worked for Tulare County Office of Education supporting teachers who worked with Migrant students. I then spent a few years as a stay at home mom and homeschooled my children during this time. It was and still continues to be such a blessing to experience!
My children currently attend Monarch River Academy (ages 7, 9, 11, 13) and are very involved in sports and other extracurricular activities like hula and folklorico dancing. We are especially into club water polo, which they play year round. Yes, even in the winter they jump into the pool when it's 43 degrees outside! YIKES! My husband and I have been married for 17 years and we love to travel every chance we get with the kids in our travel trailer.
I enjoy gardening, milling my own flour for my family's baked goods and caring for our sweet hens that give us such yummy eggs! I feel honored to work alongside parents in providing resources and support so they can be the best instructors to their children. I look forward to having a wonderful year alongside you!
