Hello families!
My name is Jennifer Melban, and I am so excited to be a part of your homeschooling journey. My husband and I are blessed with a sweet 2-year-old daughter who is our pride and joy. Watching her curiosity and love for learning grow has deepened my passion for education even more.
This year marks my 11th year in education. I began my journey at Fresno Pacific University, where I studied Liberal Studies and Music. I earned my Multiple Subject Teaching Credential and later completed my Master’s in Education. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of teaching Kindergarten, 1st grade, Reading Intervention, 6th grade, and Transitional Kindergarten.
My time teaching 6th grade played a significant role in shaping my passion for early childhood education. As I worked with students who were struggling with reading, I became deeply interested in understanding the root causes of those learning gaps. That experience inspired me to transition into Transitional Kindergarten, where I could focus on building strong early literacy foundations and implementing effective reading strategies from the very beginning. My goal has always been to help identify students' needs early and provide the support they need to become confident, successful readers.
I now feel incredibly blessed to work with Central Valley Charter Schools, where I can continue doing what I love while also being present for motherhood.
Outside of teaching, I enjoy spending time with my family. I love camping, traveling, reading, visiting cute coffee shops, and serving on my church’s worship team.
Homeschooling is such a wonderful opportunity to learn, grow, and create meaningful memories alongside your child each day. I am honored to support your family this year and look forward to partnering with you on this exciting journey!
