My name is Kara Allen. I am a wife to my amazing husband of 21 years, and mother to my three beautiful children (ages 16, 16, and 13). I have been in the educational field, on and off, for the past 21 years. I began as a first and second grade teacher in Clovis before I had my first babies, boy/girl twins, and decided to stay home with them. Three years later my husband and I welcomed our third child into the world, a girl. It was then that I decided to further my education and get my masters in Early Childhood Education. While going to classes I was given the opportunity to teach at an in-home preschool where I took my youngest daughter. It was there that I was able to put my knowledge to use, planning and implementing developmentally appropriate practices with children. When I completed my masters, I taught for the Multiple Subjects Teacher Credential program at Fresno State, and three years later ventured off to the Community College sector where I taught Child Development Courses. This is my third year teaching in the TK program for Yosemite Valley/Monarch River. It has been such a blessing working for this amazing school and its families.
In my down time you can find me supporting my kids in their various sporting events in basketball, water polo, volleyball, track…. The list is endless. I love to stay active and exercise, travel, and spend quality time with my family and friends.
Homeschooling is such an exciting journey and provides the opportunity for you to select an individualized path for learning. As we walk this road together, I will be your first point of contact for all questions. I am really looking forward to getting to know each family that I have the pleasure of working alongside this school year! Here's to an amazing 2026-2027 year full of learning and fun!
I always wanted to write a children's book. When COVID hit, I decided to tackle this goal and make this dream a reality. The journey was incredible, and the product is simply amazing. Something I cherish.
