Come along to a Progression drop in held weekly in the Piazza Building to meet with a member of the progression team who can answer your questions.
.
Drop ins are held from the first term of your programme and you do not need to book to attend. Check the notice board or student newsletter for details of the next drop in.
Sometimes students wish to request a course change (after their IPC programme) and this might be possible but we will need to check if you meet any prior study requirements and whether the University will allow the change.
.
If you want to discuss a possible change (or even just chat about it first) come along to a progression drop in or make an appointment to meet with the progression team to discuss this.
If you have questions about your student visa or applying for your next visa for further study, please contact the University International Student Support Team who can advise you on various different matters related to being an international student such as; Student Visas, EU Settlement Scheme, Graduate Visas, BRP Issues and Lost Documents.
.
.
However if you are unsure of anything, please come along to Student Support in the IPC who will be happy to direct to you the relevant team.
You can request your CAS for your next programme of study at any point, however it will only be issued by the university once you have met the conditions of your offer. Towards the end of your programme you will have a talk about this process and also a workshop to support you with the application.
However, if you want to request your CAS yourself, you do this on e-vision. Select ‘My Student Visa’ and select the course you want to request CAS for (via the dropdown menu). Then follow the task questions as you work through the 5 step process.
At the end of your programme you will have completed all your exams and assessments but your marks need to be signed off by an exam board and processed by the university. This means that you will get your results a few weeks after you finish your programme but we will inform you of the exact dates nearer the time.
There will be a leavers talk about the end of course process and next steps and the opportunity to ask any questions. The week before Results Day you will receive an email with further information and instructions about how to access your results and shortly before results day this may include a link to an online call where you will receive your results and information about your next steps.
You already hold a Conditional Offer for York, but once you have received your results, if you have met the progression requirements, the university will process your Unconditional Offer, usually within 10 working days.
If you require CAS, this will also be issued by the university but may take a little while longer, depending on what time of year you are finishing your programme.
It is important that you wait for your offer and CAS patiently and do not contact Admissions or your department as this can really delay matters. If you have any questions, get in touch with Student Support.
.
If you have a question specifically about your future study or enrolment, you will be given contact details for your department who will be able to answer you, but the IPC team are still here to help you get settled into your department and ensure your enrolment goes smoothly.
Sometimes students may receive marks which disappoint them, or which may mean they are not currently on track to meet their progression requirements. There will be lots of support available if this happens from the teaching teams to give you the best chance of improvement and success.
.
.
However, many students choose to make a Plan B (York is still their Plan A!) to give them a Back-up plan in case something does not go to plan. If you would like to discuss this, the Progression Team can advise on the application process and on universities which may make Back up offers, please come along to a drop in session or arrange to meet the team for a 1:1 discussion.
