Ffonau Symudol / Mobile Phones
Nid yw’n realistig i wahardd ffonau rhag dod i’r ysgol, ac nid yw hi’n ymarferol i gasglu ffonau yn y bore a’u dychwelyd ar ddiwedd y dydd. Ein polisi yw caniatáu disgyblion i ddod a ffôn i’r ysgol dan yr amodau isod.
Nid yw ffonau i’w defnyddio ar gyfer unrhyw ddiben yn ystod diwrnod ysgol (e.e. ffonio, tecstio, pori’r we, tynnu lluniau / fideos) gan gynnwys peth cynta’r bore, adeg egwyl a chinio.
Dylai bod ffonau wedi eu diffodd ar bob achlysur (nid ar wedd ddistaw) ac allan o’r golwg. Os yw disgybl yn torri’r rheolau yma caiff y ffôn ei chymryd oddi arno / arni a’i throsglwyddo i’r brif swyddfa. Caiff ei dychwelyd y diwrnod canlynol ar ôl derbyn llythyr gan riant / warcheidwad.
Noder:
Mae’r polisi yma yn cynnwys ipods, chwaraewyr MP3, MP4, ac offer trydanol tebyg.
It is not realistic to prohibit phones being brought to school, nor is it logistically possible for schools to collect phones in each morning and return them in the afternoon. It is our policy to allow pupils to have a mobile phone with them in school under the conditions outlined below.
Phones must not be used for any purpose during the school day (e.g. phoning, texting, surfing the internet, taking photos, taking videos), including on arrival in school, break time and lunchtime.
Phones must always be switched off (not on silent mode) and kept out of view. If a pupil breaches these rules the phone will be confiscated and given in to the office. It will be returned the following day on receipt of a letter from parents.
Note:
All points in the policy apply to phones, ipods, MP3, MP4 players and any similar electronic equipment.
Addysg Grefyddol / Religious Education
Darperir addysg grefyddol i bob disgybl yn yr ysgol. Nid ymlynir wrth unrhyw enwad arbennig, ond cyflwynir safonau moesol Cristnogol, ac o bryd i’w gilydd tynnir cymhariaeth ag arferion crefyddau eraill.
Religious Education is offered to every student. There is no adherence to any particular denominational beliefs, but moral Christian standards are offered and comparisons are made from time to time with other religious traditions.
Gwaith Cartref / Homework
Cynllunir Gwaith Cartref gan Adrannau yn unol â gofynion y cwricwlwm, a byddant yn amrywio wrth i’r gwaith ddatblygu. Mae gwaith cartref yn cynnwys ymarfer, paratoi ar gyfer gwaith dosbarth, cyfle i ymchwilio, darllen, dysgu ffeithiau sylfaenol neu adolygu. Rhaid wrth gefnogaeth rhieni i ofalu bod digon o le ac o amser gan eu plant i wneud eu gwaith ysgrifenedig. Cyfrifoldeb rhieni yw gofalu bod plant yn creu’r arfer o weithio’n gyson. Cofnodir pob gwaith cartref mewn Llyfr Cyswllt arbennig, a gofynnir i’r rhieni archwilio’r llyfr hwn bob nos a’i lofnodi unwaith yr wythnos.
Homework and preparation work is planned by departments according to the requirements of the curriculum and its stage of development. Homework may be practice, preparation for classwork, an opportunity for individual enquiry, reading, learning basic information or revision. Parental support in ensuring the availability of a proper allowance of space and time is essential. Parents or guardians are reminded that it is their responsibility to ensure that students work at a regular pace. All homework will be logged in a special Contact Book, and parents or guardians are asked to check this book every evening and sign it once a week.
Cyfleusterau bwyd yr ysgol / The school catering facilities
Bydd y bwyd yn cael ei goginio yn yr ysgol ar gyfer y disgyblion. Bydd caniatâd i’r disgyblion ddod â’u bwyd eu hunain i’r ysgol. Mae gallu’r cwmni i ddarparu prydau iach yn adlewyrchu anghenion deiet y disgyblion.
Mae cegin gynhwysfawr yn yr ysgol sydd yn medru cwrdd â’u holl ofynion gyda phwyslais arbennig ar gynnyrch ffres a phobi cartref. Mae’r gwasanaeth sydd ar gael yn cynnwys egwyl y bore a’r awr ginio.
Bob diwrnod fe fydd tri phryd bwyd ar gael ar delerau Awdurdod Lleol. Bydd y rhain yn cynrychioli gwerth am arian ar gyfer disgyblion sy’n talu a’r rhai sy’n derbyn cinio rhad. Gall disgyblion cinio rhad hefyd ddewis o’r rhestr unigol i fyny hyd at werth y pryd rhad. System fiometrig sydd yn weithredol yn yr ysgol sydd yn cael ei weinyddu yn llwyr gan Adran Arlwyo yr awdurdod addysg lleol. Bydd ffurflenni caniatad yn cael eu dosbarthu yn ystod y diwrnod pontio (i flwyddyn 6) neu fe ellir eu casglu o brif swyddfa’r ysgol drwy gydol y flwyddyn academaidd.

Pupils receiving free meals are also able to select from the individual tariff up to the free meal value. A biometric system is in place to purchase food arranged entirely by the local authority, permission slips will be distributed during the transition evening in year 6 but can also be collected from the main reception at any time during the year.
Addysg Rhyw / Sex Education
Yn y gwersi lles y cyflwynir addysg rhyw yn bennaf, er bod adrannau eraill yn cyffwrdd â’r testun mewn gwahanol themâu. Mae’r Gyfadran Wyddoniaeth yn ymdrin â’r testun o’r ochr wyddonol tra bo’r gwersi lles yn rhoi cyfle i’r disgyblion drafod emosiynau a phwysigrwydd creu a chynnal perthnasoedd iach.
Sex education is taught mainly in the wellbeing lessons and during cross-curricular weeks though other departments deal with the subject in various themes. The Science Department deals with the subject from a scientific point of view while the wellbeing lessons give students the opportunity to discuss emotions and the importance of creating and maintaining healthy relationships.
Cyfleoedd Cyfartal / Equal Opportunities
Credwn yng ngwerth hanfodol pob unigolyn. Mae gan bob disgybl hawliau cydradd i dderbyn addysg, beth bynnag bo’u rhyw, eu dosbarth, eu hanabledd, eu hanghenion addysgol, hil neu grefydd. Yn y gwersi lles gweithredir yn rhagweithiol i hybu goddefgarwch hiliol a chydraddoldeb i bob aelod o gymdeithas.
We believe in the intrinsic worth of every individual. All pupils have equal rights to education, whatever their gender, class, disability, learning needs, race or religion. The wellbeing lessons are proactive in promoting racial harmony and equality of opportunity.

Cymdeithas Cyfeillion Cwm Rhymni / The Friends of Cwm Rhymni Association
Mae’r Gymdeithas hon yn rhan annatod, fywiog a llewyrchus o gymdeithas yr ysgol, ac rydym yn eich annog i ddod yn aelod brwdfrydig a gweithgar ohoni.
This Association is a flourishing and enthusiastic integral part of the school community, and we would urge you to become an active participant.
Amddiffyn Plant / Child Protection
Mae pob aelod o staff yr ysgol yn gyfrifol am ddiogelu ac amddiffyn y plant sy’n ei mynychu. Os ceir unrhyw bryderon am esgelustod neu gam-drin corfforol, emosiynol neu rywiol, yna mae’n ddyletswydd ar y staff, yn unol â Threfn Diogelu Plant Cymru Gyfan, i sôn am hyn wrth y Swyddog Amddiffyn Plant (Mr Ryan Jenkins). Yr Adran Gwasnaethau Cymdeithasol, yn dilyn trafodaethau gyda’r Swyddog Amddiffyn Plant sydd yn penderfynu a oes angen gweithredu neu beidio.
All members of staff at the school are responsible for the safety and protection of the children who attend. If there are any concerns regarding neglect or physical, emotional or sexual abuse under the All Wales Child Protection Procedure the staff are duty-bound to report the concern to the Child Protection Officer (Mr Ryan Jenkins). Following discussion we may be obliged to make a referral to the Social Services Department who will decide on the next course of action.
Y Cyngor Ysgol / The School Council
Mae’r cyngor yn gymdeithas weithgar o gynrychiolwyr etholedig sydd yn lleisio barn y disgyblion. Bydd cyfarfodydd cyson drwy gydol y flwyddyn i sicrhau bod materion o bwys yn cael eu trafod. Pwrpas hyn yw sicrhau fod pob disgybl yn weithredol wrth wireddu gwerthoedd yr ysgol gan wybod fod eu barn nhw’n cyfrif.
The School Council is an active association of elected representitives who voice student opinion. This aim to ensure that all pupils can engage with the values of the school and take an active part in maintaining its ethos, knowing that their opinions are valued.
Polisi Meddyginiaeth / Medical Policy
Nid oes gan yr ysgol yr hawl i roi unrhyw feddyginiaeth i ddisgyblion. Os nad yw’r disgybl yn ddigon iach i fod yn yr ysgol am weddill y dydd, bydd aelod o staff y swyddfa neu’r Arweinydd Lles priodol yn cysylltu â’r cartref. Os bydd angen i’r disgyblion gymryd moddion yn ystod amser ysgol yna gofynnir iddynt ddod a’r sylwedd a’i gadw yn y brif swyddfa ynghyd a nodyn gan riant yn datgan y ddogn a’r amser.
The school is unable to give any medicines to the pupils. If the pupil is not well enough to stay in school until the end of the day a member of office staff or the appropriate Wellbeing Leader will contact parents. If a pupil needs to consume prescribed medicines during the school day we ask for it to be left at the main office along with a note from the parent stating dose and time.
Addysg Gorfforol / Physical Education
Ein nod yw darparu llu o brofiadau priodol ar gyfer y disgyblion a fydd yn eu galluogi i gyflawni hyd yr eithaf eu potensial mewn chwaraeon a chadw diddordeb a mwynhad y disgyblion. Ceisiwn hybu iechyd a ffitrwydd ar gyfer y presennol a’r dyfodol. Disgwylir i bob disgybl gymryd rhan weithgar ym mhob gwers - oni bai fod meddyg wedi tystio iddynt fethu gwneud hynny. Efallai bod achlysur yn codi pan na fydd y disgybl yn medru cyfrannu’n ymarferol - mae dal angen dod â chit ond mae croeso iddynt ddod â thracwisg/cot h.y. dillad sy’n amddiffyn y disgybl rhag y tywydd. Rhaid cael llythyr gan rieni neu feddyg os nad yw’r disgybl yn gallu ymgymryd â’r gwersi.
Our aim is to provide appropriate experiences for our pupils which will allow them to achieve their full potential in sport. We aim to maintain their interest and enjoyment as well as promote health and fitness for the present and the future. Every pupil is expected to take an active part in every lesson - unless declared medically unfit by a doctor. Occasionally if a pupil might not be able to contribute fully to the lesson they will still be expected to bring their kit (including a tracksuit or other protective clothing for the cold/wet conditions). A letter explaining the reasoning is of the utmost importance if the pupil is not able to participate.
Gwybodaeth i rieni ynglŷn â gwersi Addysg Gorfforol:
Mae Adran Addysg Gorfforol Cwm Rhymni yn adran weithgar a brwdfrydig ac yr ydym yn edrych ymlaen at groesawu eich plentyn i’r ysgol i fwynhau’r profiadau ymarfer corff a gynigir gan yr adran. Er mwyn hwyluso trefniadau a sicrhau nad oes camddealltwriaeth o drefniadau a wnewch chi barchu’r polisïau isod, os gweler yn dda:
Rhaid gwisgo’r wisg addysg gorfforol gywir i bob gwers a phan fydd rhan o’r wisg yn cael ei anghofio am reswm teilwng, bydd rhaid benthyg o’r adran a’i ddychwelyd ar ddiwedd y wers.
Mae angen i bob disgybl gwisgo trainers cryf sy’n aros yn dynn am y traed ac yn amddiffyn y disgybl rhag anafiadau. Gwaherddir ‘daps’, sy’n eitemau ffasiynol ar hyn o bryd, gan nad ydynt yn ddiogel.
Mae disgwyl i bob disgybl wisgo’r wisg addysg gorfforol p’un ai ydynt yn medru cyfranogi ai peidio. Mae nifer o resymau dros hyn: yn aml nid yw disgybl yn teimlo 100% wrth adael y tŷ yn y bore ond erbyn y wers efallai’n iawn i gyfrannu rhywfaint. Pan nad yw disgybl wir yn medru cymryd rhan yn ymarferol rhoir tasgau cynorthwyol iddynt, e.e. efallai gofynnir iddynt hyfforddi neu ddyfarnu.
Cynigir llu o weithgareddau allgyrsiol i’r disgyblion. Rhoir y wybodaeth i’r disgyblion gan aelodau’r adran a gofynnir i’r disgyblion drefnu ei hunain trwy gofnodi yn y dyddiadur gwaith cartref. Ar ddiwedd pob gweithgaredd mae’r disgyblion yn aros am lifft o faes parcio’r ysgol.
Gwisg Addysg Gorfforol:
Bechgyn: Crys rygbi, siorts du a sanau coch/Fest coch a siorts gwyn. Bwts ar gyfer pêl-droed neu rygbi ar gyfer y cae porfa neu’r cae 3G.
Merched: Crys polo coch, sgort du, sanau coch. Hwdi coch a gwaelod tracwisg du. Bwts ar gyfer pêl-droed, rygbi neu hoci ar gyfer y cae porfa/cae 3G.
Information to parents regarding Physical Education lessons:
The Physical Education department at Cwm Rhymni is a hard working, enthusiastic department and we are looking forward to welcoming your child to enjoy the numerous physical education opportunities provided by the department. In order to ensure that there are no misunderstandings and to help with pupil organisation it would be appreciated if you could respect the following departmental policies:
Pupils must wear the correct physical education kit to all lessons and if for a legitimate reason part of the kit is forgotten they must borrow and return the kit at the end of the lesson.
All pupils must wear trainers that protect the foot and provide support. ‘Daps’ which have recently become very fashionable are not acceptable as they are unsafe for participation in Physical Education lessons.
All pupils wear the correct kit whether they are able to take part or not. There are a number of reasons for this. Firstly, often pupils do not feel 100% when they leave the house in the morning but by the time they reach their P.E. lesson they can take part to the best of their ability. If a pupil definitely cannot take part he/she is given another role in the lesson e.g. umpiring/refereeing or coaching.
A number of extra curricular activities are offered by the school. Information is given to the pupils by the P.E. teachers. Pupils are asked to organise themselves by noting the arrangements in their homework diary.
At the end of each activity the pupils wait for a lift from the school car park.
Physical Education Kit:
Boys: Rugby shirt, black shorts and red socks/ Red vest and white shorts. Boots for rugby/football on the grass pitch or 3G pitch.
Girls: Red polo shirt, black skort, red socks, red hooded top and black tracksuit bottoms. Boots for rugby/football or hockey on the grass pitch or 3G pitch.
