Tim Hunter

Tim Hunter has the position of Bilingual EL Paraprofessional at YCS, offering his assistance at Ypsilanti Community High School and Ypsilanti Community Middle School. He has worked in several capacities at YCHS since February, 2015, including Spanish Teacher and Building Substitute Teacher.

Tim is bilingual in English and Spanish. He has an Associate's Degree in Science, Summa Cum Laude from Henry Ford College in Dearborn, MI, and studied Science at Wayne State University in Detroit, MI. His affinity toward the Latino community and their language led to his involvement in immigrant advocacy and activism in Southwest Detroit, Ypsilanti, Ann Arbor, Lansing, Kalamazoo, and Washington, D.C. since 2011. He has done Spanish/English translations for immigration lawyers in Detroit, and has volunteered his tutoring services in ESL for several organizations. He lived in Guadalajara, Mexico for three months and travels back there regularly.
