Purpose:
To demonstrate understanding of the structure for each of YOUR features: eyes, nose, & mouth;
To practice using black & white charcoal to render a drawing, using brown paper as the middle value
When creating my final portrait, I most definitely need to work on really getting the shape of my features down. Although they do resemble mine, I feel as if they are slightly off. When drawing, I really need to pay attention to the proportions of my eyes, the shapes, and how they are shaded. A big part of how they resemble my own features too, is how I shade them. If the proportions are all correct but I shade them completely off, they will probably not look like my features. It will help that I do have a photo to copy off of, but paying close attention to the way they are shaded and the proportions will help a ton.
