This was one of many photos I took of my cat. I chose to photograph him when he was walking towards me. Instead of taking the picture on the ground directly in front of him, I decided to take it from the side to include the grass and the leaf. My hope was to capture the contrast between the color of his fur and the grass and also the leaf.
It took a while to take this photo because of the movement. I wanted to capture the wave as it was breaking. I chose this one because it shows the wave breaking perfectly. The sun brightens the water perfectly and also brings out the texture of the wet seaweed.
I found this bridge on my hike through the woods. I thought the perspective from the ground would enhance the picture because the lines show the steepness of the bridge. The angle also makes the bridge look bigger because the lines are all pointing to the center. I chose to post this picture because it had a man-made structure in it and the other photos I took did not.
My thoughts when making this photo were that looking up at the trees from the ground had no wow factor. I wanted to add a specific subject, so I photographed from under the fern. I had to be careful with the lighting with this. Since the camera is aimed at the sky, it was hard to block out the sun and focus on the leaf. I chose this photo over the others because the sun makes the leaves glow, but doesn't pass through enough to fully brighten the photo.
