Two of the most important concepts I learned this semester:
I learned a lot about art from this class during the semester. Two of the most important concepts I learned would be one- point perspective drawing and still life drawing. The one-point perspective drawing taught me a lot about drawing, like how to get the proportions and angles right when drawing something from a perspective. The still life drawing also taught me a lot. For example, this drawing helped me understand how to use value to make things look 3D. I also learned from this drawing different ways of shading; stippling, hatching, cross-hatching, and controlled scribbling. This drawing also taught me how to draw shadows.
Assignment that I am the most proud of:
The assignment that I am most proud of is my value portrait painting. I am really proud of how this drawing came out. I think I put a lot of time and effort into this painting. This painting was not only fun but also beneficial to my learning because I've never painted using black and white values. This project gave me a chance to work with shadows, which I think is very important to art. I picked this project over any other project because I think it represents my best work from this class, considering the attention to detail and contrast.
