Types of bottom surgery
Vaginoplasty
The creation of a vagina, generally through reshaping penile and scrotal tissue.
Orchiectomy
The removal of testes
Penectomy
The removal of a penis
Clitoroplasty
The creation of a clitoris
Labiaplasty
The creation of a labia
Many of these procedures can be done either on their own or in concert with others, depending on the patient's desired outcome.
Surgeons
Dr. Rachel Bluebond-Langner is a surgeon at NYU Langone in New York, NY specializing in gender confirmation surgery and known particularly for performing transfem bottom surgery.
As noted in the transmasculine surgeries section: Dr. Bluebond-Langer has very long wait times. In early 2023, consultations were booked out to May 2025.
Dr. Bella Avanessian is a surgeon at Mt. Sinai specializing in transfem gender confirmation surgery.
Dr. Christine McGinn is a surgeon at the Papillion Center in New Hope, PA who specializes in trans care.
Dr. McGinn requires patients to pay up-front and then be reimbursed afterwards since she negotiates with insurance providers.
Dr. Elan Horesh is a surgeon at Mt. Sinai who also conducts transfem bottom surgical options.
One person stated having a consultation with him in early May and then having a surgical date set for the end of August of the same year.
