1st-Hagan Scholarship Foundation

The Hagan Scholarship is a nationwide need-based merit scholarship designed to help rural students graduate college debt-free. The scholarship provides up to $48,000 and other benefits over four years to attend college. Recipients must graduate from an eligible public high school. Hagan Scholars currently attend colleges and universities located in 47 states.

Eligibility:

1. Must be a US Citizen.

2. Must attend an Eligible Public High School.

3. Must have achieved a 3.50 Cumulative Grade Point Average.

4. Must rank in the top 20% of the high school graduating class.

5. Must enroll at an Eligible Four-Year College or University the first semester following high school graduation.

6. Must maintain a four year or less graduation schedule in college.

7. Must work 240 hours during the twelve months prior to fall semester college enrollment. Employment must be regularly scheduled work performed under supervision for compensation.

8. Must provide the FAFSA SAR showing the EFC. The EFC does not have to be paid by the parents, it is used only to determine the disbursement amount.

9. Must apply for Federal and State grants if eligible.

10. Must not have a felony conviction.

The intended recipient of a Hagan Scholarship is a high-achieving student having clear goals in need of financial assistance to attend college.
