1. Understand and explain the importance of maintaining well-balanced ecosystems for our environment; its characteristics and relations.
1.1 Students can illustrate all the levels of the trophic cascade in a graphic organizer.
1.2 They are able to explain orally the characteristics of the different ecosystems and its relation with living organisms by using a proper vocabulary and grammar structures.

2. Detect, observe, investigate and analyse the causes and effects of invasive species in our environment (Osona) using the scientific method.

2.1 Students can predict a hypothesis, collect evidence, measure them and make a conclusion by filling in the scientific method template.
2.2 They are able to interact in English with their cooperative group, making use of the agreement vocabulary and structures provided through language support.
2.3 Students can write in English their investigation and conclusions in their group file using the vocabulary and structures provided in the language support.

3. How can we, as citizens, contribute to preserving our ecosystems? Justify changes in today’s society and plan actions to prevent or minimize the impact of introducing invasive species and not to protect native ones on our environment.

3.1 Students can make an oral presentation showing the results of their investigation in order to raise consciousness about the impact of invasive species in Osona.
3.2 They are able to give some advice to minimize the impact of invasive species.
