The described CLIL project was intended for primary students, specifically 6th graders. This proposal is a set of competence-focused activities with practical and achievable objectives. The aim of the activities was developing key competences and to equip students with useful skills for real life. The main goal is to offer students the opportunity to acquire skills in both language dimensions; basic interpersonal communicative skills (BICS) but also cognitive academic language proficiency (CALP) in the English language together with specific content of the science field. Our CLIL project offers a wide range of English language exposure in both communicative skills and cognitive academic language.
Also, the following proposals try to prove that ICT, teamwork, and interaction increases motivation and engagement of pupils in everyday lessons as well as enhances personal and social competencies. Our proposal is not only linked to linguistic skills but also scientific skills. Personal and social competencies are also improved and developed by collaboration, cooperation and throughout the formative and summative assessment when students are aware and take active part in their own learning process.
