Students receive in-class work time for homework. They will be bringing home anything they don't finish. Additionally, I rarely assign homework to be due the next day. Students will have time to complete assignments in the classroom if they use their time appropriately.
Weighted Grading
In Class Participation 5%* Assignments 30% Projects/Assessments 65%
*Please note that "In Class Participation" only includes in-class formative assignments including but not limited to in class reflections, quick write questions and Near Pod. Students will not be graded on how often they "talk".
Corrections will be an opportunity to bring up a grade by some points if a test or homework assignment didn't go as well as a student would have liked. Remember that corrections are meant to help students learn from their mistakes, not as a shortcut for not properly preparing for a test or not taking their time on an assignment.
Tests: Students may complete corrections for up to a maximum grade of 80%. To earn points back from corrections, they must include the question number, correct answer, and an explanation of why it is correct on a loose leaf piece of paper.
Assignments*: Corrections may be completed only if the assignment was submitted on time. Corrected assignments may earn up to full points.
*Late assignments are not eligible for corrections.
